Fuerza San Andres
Standing quietly on a hill overlooking the town of Romblon, Fuerza San Andres is a timeless reminder of the island’s colonial past. Built during the Spanish era, this stone fortress once served as a protective stronghold against pirate raids and foreign invaders, guarding the coastline and the people who lived below.

Its weathered walls, made from local coral stones and limestone, have endured centuries of history—from Spanish rule to the uncertainties of wartime. Walking through the fort today feels like stepping back in time, where each stone seems to hold stories of vigilance, resilience, and survival.

From the top, visitors are rewarded with a panoramic view of Romblon town and its surrounding waters. The contrast of old-world architecture against the bright blues of the sea creates a striking and photogenic scene—especially during sunset, when the sky casts warm hues over the fort’s ancient walls.
